Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns . This sharp pain could be due to the IUD perforating the uterus and going in the abdominal cavity. This causes light headedness, dizziness and excessive bleeding. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible so that you can be properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
