What Causes Sharp Abdominal Pain While Having An IUD Insert?
I have a IUD, which is due to come out this month. It was put in 2009 (MIRENA). On different occassions when I cough of sneeze I have sharp pains in my abdomen. It doesnt happen all the time and sometimes months go between pain before it happens again. Should I be worried?

Hi, I understand your query. The pain you have in abdomen with coughing/sneezing may be due to- - Muscular stress in cases of chronic / prolonged cough, cold. - Increased abdominal pressure caused by forsefull coughing/sneezing- the thrust being carried to uterus - possible infection of cervix/vagina/ uterus causing the organs mildly inflamed to cause pain with even slight coughing/ sneezing. * you should get your self thoroughly checked internaly to exclude any genital inflammation , get treated if needful & then think of reinsertion of Minera . Thanks.
