What Causes Sharp Pain And Constipation After Appendix Removal?
I had my appendix removed 2 months ago. Now all of a sudden I m having sharp pains and trouble passing a stool. I went to the hospital last night, they gave me magnesium citrate, I drank half a bottle last night and half this morning. Still nothing. Any ideas?
Hi. There may not be a relation to the appendectomy as it is 2 months after the surgery. This can be due to constipation or colitis of some sort. May be a course of antibiotic and metronidazole can help. If the pain still persists, it would be better to get the clinical examination done by a Surgeon and a few investigations done.
