What Causes Sharp Pain Behind The Eye?
Doc: My girlfriend has cold sores on her lip and around her mouth, presumably due to her spending all day Sunday in the sun (she is not used to prolonged exposure). This is not great, but there is another thing: she reports a sharp pain behind her left eye that comes on a couple times per hour... She has Abreva for the skin thing but is there anything about the eye pain to be concerned about? She has taken a lot of aspirin but it hasn t helped. THanks in advance.

consult eye doctor for fundus examination.avoid exposure to sun.without examination it can not be predicted that it is due to prolonged exposure to sun exclude raised iop and optic neuritis.

without diagnosis should not take much aspirin.it will have more side effect avoid exposure to sun. can put on dark glass. advise medication after proper diagnosis.
