I am having a sharp stabbing like pain in the back of my head near the top of my spine. Feels like a bad headache (like behind the eyes) but started out as a once every few minutes but is becoming constant and worse if I lift my head up and now sensitive to the touch.
Hello! Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern. In my opinion the sharp headache you have may be caused by an occipital neuralgia (a type of headache caused by the irritation of the occipital nerve). It may be caused by a cervical column arthritis, but also by trauma or intracranial lesions. I would recommend to take Indomethacine twice daily if you have no contraindications to this drug. It will help you a lot with the pain. If the problem persists I would recommend to consult with a neurologist and have further examinations. Hope to have been helpful! Greetings! Dr. Aida
