You may have developed a form of primary headache referred to as trigeminal autonomic cephalgias (TAC). These are typically present as sharp, jabbing, or lightning like pains which are only present for a second or 2 and gone. There can be multiple during the day or at a time. These are NOT migraines. They are different and referred to as TAC's. Seek out a NEUROLOGIST for more specific treatment and possibly workup that should be done before starting you on specific medication. But yes, it is common (unfortunately) and a lot of people misdiagnose it as something else so that's why you need a headache specialist in my opinion.
