What Causes Sharp Pain In The Groin Area?

I have a persistent feeling of as if I am being stuck with needles in my groin area. There is also a small area on my scrotum that cracks and gets very sore and will not completely heal. What would you says this is and what do you suggest. I have been told by my doctor at the VA that it is psoriasis.
