What Causes Sharp Pain In The Leg In The Wound Area?

I had an operation for a small cancer on my leg by the shin bone in January. It has not been painful and still is not, but I am starting for the first time to have some lingering rather sharp pains in the vicinity of the wound, which has healed over, but still is about the size of a half dollar and indented. So far when I see the doctor who did the sugary, he says all is well. thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think this area is nothing but just healed fibrous tissue which occurs following removal of normal tissue and it is not a problem as it will be soon disappear and it will be replaced by less thicker tissue.
This sharp pain which is you are feeling in the vicinity is caused by entrapped cutaneous nerves in fibrous tissue, during healing process. It is not uncommon to have such pain and soon this pain will also disappear.
For the time being, I have following suggestions for you.
1 Always keep a with the help of serial x rays as some time there is chances that recurrence of cancer can occur.
2. It is hypertrophied scar and it can cause itching so I would suggest you to avoid applying any cream with out permission of doctor as it can cause contact dermatitis.
3. Take Pregabalin and Methylcobal regularly after discussing with your doctor.
