What Causes Sharp Pain Radiating From The Nape Of The Neck Towards Forehead?

My mother is getting sharp pains in the back on her head from the nap that shoots up to the head. It is on the left side and sometimes complains about a similar pain in the front on her forehead starting from the eyebrow up to her head.....on the left side as well.

Do CT scan Head for diagnosed which type pain.
