What Causes Sharp Pain Under The Left Breast Upon Breathing Or Coughing?

Hi , I ve had , what I believe to be, a viral invection the last 3/4 days . I ve had a fever , chills , body aches , loss of appetite, nausea ( I believe due to the lack of food mixed with painkillers) , head aches , but mymain concern is when I breath in deep or cough, or lie a certain way, I get a sharp pain on the left side of my torso , specifically under the left rib beneath the left breast . Occasionally it moves down further to my lower torso momentarily. I have had this this I got the viral invection but assumed it would go away but it s not.

Hello,

It may be due to pleuritic pain or cardiac pain or intercostal muscle spasm or infections of the lung etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. please take x-ray chest, ECG and consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
