Hello there, i had an abdominal myomectomy 6 months ago to take out a 7cm fibroid. 3 months prior to this i had a 6-7cm fibroid removed vaginally after taking tablets to shrink my fibroid which didnt work and my bleeding persistantly got worse. I am a midwife and work alongside my two consultants who have never had a patient like me. Im 6 months post op now and im still getting pain and sharp shooting pains on my cervix despite the medication i remain on after seeing the pain consultant is there any chance a further fibroid could be there at all?
After going through your question, I am of the opinion that:
1) Shooting pain in the vagina could be due to some injury following hysteroscopy
2) You had a very very big fibroid removed vaginally, they might have used electrocautery to stop peddle bleeding which can cause pain.
3) Pain could be unrelated to the surgery and might be due to cervicitis or infection.
4) There is a small possibility of you growing another fibroid too.
I hope this was helpful.
Regards,
Dr. Shikha.
