What Causes Shivering After Having Food?

Hi Dr. Samuel,
My husband and I went out for Thai food then the movies, and now three hours later he suddenly starts to shiver. I wrapped in in two blankets, but even now that he's asleep, whenever he exhales he shivers so much that I can feel the bed shake. What's happening to him?

Please help,

I really appreciate your concern for your husband, looking to the history given here I could say that the chances of food allergy is very likely and in my opinion wait for some time and have a close watch on the clinical condition if the symptom persist or worsen then you need to go to ER, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
