What Causes Shooting Pain In Lower Region During 38 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi, I'm 38 weeks pregnant & have been getting shooting pains every now and then in my lower region. Is that normal? According up my doctor, the baby is head down and is putting pressure which makes me swollen down there. What do you think about the swelling & pain?
