What Causes Shooting Sensation At The Back Of Head Above Neck?

Hello, I have a question, at the back of my left side head just above my neck, there is a sensation like shooting but not pain that I can tolerate, it s fast that travels upward, not even a second but it s uncomfortable, it happened from time to time, can you please tell me what is going?

Hello,

I have studied your case.

Due to compression of this nerve root there can be shooting sensation.
I will advise you to MRI cervical spine for better diagnosis.

It can be due to various causes like sudden jerk to spine, due to facet arthritis, degenerative, due to chronic systemic disease like diabetes or hypothyroidism.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
