What Causes Shortness Of Breath Along With Confusion?

Last night a 66 year old male was at work. He suddenly had shortness of breath, loss of strength and balance, mental confusion and slight numbness in the extremities. He treated it with a candy bar and the symptoms receded. He is not currently a diabetic patient

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Shortness of breathlessness, loss of strength & balance, mental confusion & slight numbness of extremities can occur due to may causes but you history with no other illness informed like-
Anxiety ,dehydration, low blood sugar, anemia, hypothyroidism etc. But the fact that the complaints were relieved with a candy bar... suggests it to be low blood glucose.
Thanks.
