What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Chest Pain And Sweating At Night?

34 y/o male feels fine during day. when he lays down at night, he will begin to have shortness of breath and chest pains. He will start to doze off and then wake up in a sweat and gasping for breath. sometimes it only last for 30 minutes or less and other nights it goes on for hours.

Thank you for your query.
The complaint stright forward suggests as a classical case of decrease in heart function.
This is not a disease but can be result of many cardiac disorders. The breathlessness on lying down is called as orthopnea. The patient needs immediated medical care.
Without doing late you should take him to a cardiologist.
