What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Fatigue And Decreased Muscle Strength?

Hello. I am just checking to see if I can get some ideas of why I have been feeling different over the last 15 months. I noticed that at times I have shortness in breath, fatigue (tired), decreased muscle strength. I am 45 years old and though maybe I was out of shape and a bad diet and maybe over weight (245). Over the last 2.5 months I have been working out everyday at least 60 minutes a day and eating better. I still feel the same and haven t seen any results. The reason I am asking is because I have always been in shape - Boxer and worked out. I have seen a few doctors but they haven t been very good at trying to find anything. I know something is wrong. I know my body but no one is listen. Blood work has been done and everything seems to be okay. I also had a Testostrone test done recently. I will be following up with a doctor on 10/14/14. What else could be going wrong?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
At your age of 45, menopause generally started.
So possibility of cardiac disease is high during this age due to loss of cardioprotective effect of estrogen.
So first get done ecg and 2d echo to rule out cardiac cause first your symptoms.
If both are normal then no need to worry for heart disease.
Bronchitis is another possibility in your case as you are having breathlessness and fatigue.
So get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out bronchitis.
Consult doctor and discuss about these investigations to rule out cardiac and Pulmonary causes.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
