Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, I am a 42 years old unmarried female. My bp is 95/61. Every time I start to walk (as exercise for 20 minutes) in the evening, I feel short of breath at the beginning 5 minutes, after that I breath okay. I usually feel tired (even I do not do any hard work in the day). What should I eat in my daily meals to make my blood pressure higher?
Welcome to healthcaremagic, Desirable blood pressure range is 100 to 140 (systolic blood pressure) by 60 to 90 (diastolic blood pressure). Your blood pressure is slightly below the desired levels. If you hae low pressure on many occasions you should consult your physician. If you get low blood pressure occasionally, it can be improved by doing regular physical exercise such as walking for at least 30 minutes daily. You can take an extra pinch of salt in your diet as salt increases the blood pressure. As you feel tired very often, I recommend you get a blood test done for your Hemoglobin level. Values of less than 12 are considered abnormal and it indicates anemia which can be easily treated. That should solve your concern. Regards, Dr.Ismail (if the answer has helped you, please indicate this)
