Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I had a fall last week and landed on my back resulting in sharp pain. I had x-rays done which appeared normal. I have been taking voltaren rapid 25mg and paracetemol. I also took one valium day 3. I endured the long flights from Australia but then started vomiting, including stomach cramps. I now feel a tightness in my chest similar to the feeling you get just before sleep. Friends had just gotten over a virus while I visited. I am unsure as to whether the shortness of breath is drug, virus or fall related. Suggestions please?
Thank you for your question! Regarding your complains I would say that it is important to ascertain the nature of shortness of breathing; is it persistent, related with any sort of positions or with efforts or restricted by associated pain? If any virus is implicated with this you should have other respiratory signs or symptoms (like cough, sputum respiration-related pain, high temperature etc), ask your friends about their virus-related symptoms; drugs that you have taken doesn't induce shortness of breathing; and about your traumatic fall I don't have information about its caracter and severity (were there interestes structures like abdomen or chest). If your problem persists you have to perform blood tests like complete blood count, PCR, BNP and if no conclusion will be drawn and pain and dyspnea persist I recomment you a CT scan of the thorax. Hope to have been helpful. Best regards by Dr. Iliri. if your complain
