Linzess contains linaclotide, is a prescription medication used in adults to treat
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with
constipation. usual dosage for IBS is 290mcg/day, while for constipation it's usually given 145mcg/day.
Common side effects of Linzess include:
diarrhea, stomach pain, bloating, gas,
heartburn, nausea n vomiting, headache, weakness, flu like symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, or sinus pain,
dizziness or a light-headed feeling. if you felt very severe side effects, better you contact your treating doctor.
the signs of dangerous condition are: increased thirst or urination,
leg cramps, severe mood changes, confusion, feeling unsteady, irregular heartbeats, chest fluttering,
severe muscle weakness or limp feeling, severe diarrhea and stomachache, or black, bloody stools.
here some tips for you:
1. Take Linzess orally once daily or as directed by your doctor, on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before your first meal of the day. Swallow the capsules whole. Do not break or chew the capsules.
2. Use it regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. It may take up to 2 weeks before your symptoms improve. Keep using the medication as directed except your symptom's getting worse.
3. the dosage depends on your condition and your response to the drug. do not increase or lower it without your doctor's permission. if your symptoms or side effects persist or worsen, please meet your local doctor.
4. if you use another medicine or supplement, tell your doctor. because some drugs may have interaction with Linzess.
