What Causes Skipping Of Heartbeat With Fluttering In Throat?
I have had this problem for many years, however, very recently it is happening more frequently and with longer durations. My heart skips a beat. The next beat is strong and I can feel it in my throat like a flutter. Should I be in the emergency room or should I schedule an appointment with a doctor? What could be causing this? My email is YYYY@YYYY .
Hi welcome to HCM. Skipped beats in majority of cases seem to be of benign nature. These ectopics can be evaluated through a baseline EkG and a 24H HOLTER EKG.Reduction of intake of alcohol and coffee can reduce the ectopics or missed beats.Stress management can largely contribute to the improvement of the ectopics.A screening 2 dimensional echo can rule out organic heart lesions.Drugs like beta blockers and anxiolytics will help to reduce the ectopics.Consult your doctor for further care. Thank you
