I have just noticed a long indentation in my skull on the top about a quarter to half inch wide and about six inches long. I am diagnosed with Sjogrens and distal tubular renal acidosis. Lately my skin and hair has been very dry. Iam not sure if the indentation is related and can find very little information. Is this serious. It has become sensitive to touch and I also had a recent TIA and could not pinpoint the cause. Is any of this related. What could cause this indentation?
I would explain that the indentation does not seem to be related to the TIA. But, as it is related to the scull structure, considering your past medical history, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and some tests:
- a brain CT scan - vitamin D and calcium plasma levels for possible deficiency - complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope to have been helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing all the best, Dr. Aida
