Hello Betti,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query.
Your difficulty in sleep and loss of appetite (due to gastritis) are side effects of Prednisolone. Also you would have noticed that the blood sugar would have gone up.
I would be interested in knowing the diagnosis for which Prednisolone was started. If it is only neck pain with a radiculopathy, it is most likely to be due to a cervical spondylosis and degenerated disc exerting pressure on the nerves.
To relieve the pain due to such a radiculopathy, what I usually prescribe for my patients is Gabapentin which gives you good pain relief and sleep without the side effects of Prednisolone.
I am available if you have further queries.
Wish you good health
