What Causes Slight Scratch In The Edge Of Cornea?

Got hit with a metal edge of a broom handle to right side of eyeball. Saw an opthamologist and he said no internal damage, possible laceration(it was filling up with blood, so couldn't tell exactly) and slight scratch to outside edge of cornea..prescribed erythramyacin ointment, no return visit. I started having flashes of light on right peripheral edge and spidery black floaters the same night. Next day floaters, like little black bugs still visible and flashes also. Today they have decreased. Should I get a follow up appointment even though my eye doesn't hurt as bad...it's still totally blood red and looks bad. I'm concerned about PVD...my vision seems as normal as it was before the injury. thanks

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
These symptoms of flashes of light requires evaluation by ophthalmologist to rule out problems affecting the retina or vitreous like PVD, retinal tear...

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
