What Causes Small, Hard, White Bump On Tongue?

i have a small hard white bump on the very side of my tongue, its painless, and it moves slightly but is hard, also because i was worried about this i inspected my throat further with my finger and on the very far back of my tongue where you cant see there are many bumps on the skin again completely painless. I have no trouble swallowing, i am not ill and don't have a sore throat. I do smoke, can anybody tell me what it might be?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

A small hard and white bump over the side of tongue seems to be due to formation of a mucous cyst or a Mucocele or can be a deep hematoma caused due to tongue bite or can be a benign muscle tumour..

The bumps over the back of tongue seems to be Circumvallate Papillae and are naturally enlarged structures and are not necessarily swollen..

You need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and and a biopsy if required can be done to rule out the cause and treatment can be planned accordingly..

As of now do salt water rinses..
