What Causes Small Lesions On The Left Ear Drum After Treating Ear Infection?
I have a small lesion on my left ear drum after a really bad ear infection. I have been having really horrible ear pains after flights and when I went to the doctor she said my ear infections were terrible and put me on antibiotics and ear drops. When I went back they said they see a small lesion and want me to see a specialist. They said it might just be a healing process. I am supposed to go on a trip to South America on January 8th- is this side effect normal for bad ear infections or should I be worried this will hinder my trip plans?
Hi from your complaints , nothing much to worry. It's a healing process only. If you flight whether you get more pain in esr especially during descend. It's estuchian tube block which can also cause barotrauma. So before flying use oxymetazoline nasal drops which is a decongestant can prevent ear pain ... Regarding your lesion without examination I can only say it's not much problem to take a flight. If u have severe pain or ear block . Kindly visit a ent specialist
