What Causes Small Lump With Pus Under My Armpit?

I have a small lump/ball under my armpit. I have had it for 6 months if not longer. When I squeeze it puss comes out, I squeeze it hoping that if I squeeze all the puss out it will go away. Two days ago I squeezed it and a blood ball came out but it was hard and still attached to my skin. After I wiped it away the rest of the blood was a more runny consistency... It doesn t really hurt if I leave it alone. Only every so often...

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small lump with pus under armpit which seems to be due to swelling lymph nodes , formation of cyst due to infection , bacterial or viral infection and due to some underlying disease (herpes ). It could be due to improper hygiene and blockage of glands in that area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult your doctor again for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , chest X-ray or biopsy (to check for cancerous lesion). He/she may prescribe stronger antibiotics for more duration , may consider surgical excision or radiation therapy. For now give warm compresses several times a day and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen to reduce pain and inflammation.
