What Causes Small Quantity Of Stool With Blood?

I have had ribbon shaped stool for many months but this last week it has gotten smaller and less in amount. Two days ago I used a magnesium citrus drink and I went some but I have increasing pain even less in amount and now smallest ever today. Today I drank more of that stuff and went a tiny bit. Only this time have some blood and increasing pain in my left front upper side. Very bloated. Can t eat and nausea a little. Am I in an emergency? I am getting more pain as I sit here and feel I should stand.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Ribbon like stool with blood and small quantity are indicative of stricture or cancer at the anal canal.
I would advise you the following.
Get examined by a Gastro Surgeon for
Local examination
Per-rectal examination
Proctoscopy to start with followed by Colonoscopy.
Biopsy
CT scan and surgery as indicated.
I find this answer helpful
