Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in query is a condition known as 'STOMATITIS' . Stomatitis occur due to various reasons like
canker sore ,cold sore or irritation . In your case it seems to me that the denture is irritating the mucosa which is responsible for stomatitis . Stomatitis results in ulcers on roof of the mouth , ulcer at the site of molar and swelling of gums .
Usually wear and treat of denture occur with long times use which create sharp points on denture which irritate mucosa and leads to stomatitis .
I would suggest you to
consult dentist for proper examination and rule out condition like
periapical abscess ,
periodontal abscess , allergy or oral herpes. Doctor may give you another denture ,prescribe antibiotics (
amoxicillin) , steroid topical gel .
For now apply orabase gel on sores , do Salt warm water rinses , betadine rinses , avoid hot and spicy food and do not wear denture until you visit dentist.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
