I have two painless spots/bumps on the right tonsillar pillar, and one on the left tonsillar pillar and all three are near the bottom of the pillars. All can be quite hard to see as the tongue normally hides them. They are very near to the tonsil almost on the fold but I m pretty sure they aren t tonsil stones. All three are quite small. All are a fleshy almost yellow/cream colour. Tonsils were examined by a doctor a few months ago for an unrelated cyst in the right tonsil itself and he didn t mention these three spots (I didn t notice them myself until about two months ago), checked my lymph nodes in the neck and no issues. Any ideas? Am I correct in thinking if it was something sinister it would be unlikely to present on both tonsillar pillars in the form of three spots, with no obvious abnormalities visible to a doctor just a few months ago?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yellow spots in the throat may be due to pus coming from tonsillitis crypts or it may be due to candida infection or allergy or post nasal discharge or ulcers with debris of necrotic tissue etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
Avoid cool drinks and freeze water.
Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care.
