What Causes Smell And Taste Disorders After Treated For Sinus Infection?
I recently had a bad sinus infection that affected my ears and throat. I took Augmenten for 10 days and a nasal spray, which I am still using. My throat is fine now, but I lost my sense of smell and taste. My ears sometimes feel like they are still not completely normal either. How can I get my smell and taste back? Should I stop using the nasal spray? Is this common for a sinus infection? Thanks
Yes it is common after an infection and stopping the spray is not a correct thing to do. Please continue the spray and steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. It generally takes 1-2 weeks for the smell and taste to return , please have patience.
Take care!
