What Causes Smelly Discharge From Navel When Having Constipation?
My daughter & I have an odd question but when we both have periods of constipation we leak a smelly liquid from our belly buttons? I have had several abdominal surgeries, however, my daughter has not had any. We are wondering what the correlation would be?
Smelly discharge from navel is a common problem. Don't worry about that. I don't think that any relation between constipation and naval discharge. Sometimes some areas such as belly button when don't get fresh air, get warm and moist and can get an overgrowth of bacteria or thrush. This would explain the smell. In that case i would suggest an antibiotic cream is useful. Salty water to wash the area is also really good, and after the shower make sure you dry the area really well, a hair dryer works great. If the condition is painful then you should visit a family physician. Anyways, hope this helps some. Best wishes for your Good Health.
