What Causes Smudged Line In The Vision Of Left Eye?

I am fifty nine. This morning a little after I woke I noticed a light shadow, not a "floater" or a spot but a smudged line in my left eye. If I look directly at it or close my other eye it's not there. But it is constantly there, as though a string were hanging from a hat, in my field of vision.

it is present in effected eye. this is an opacity present in any part of media. detail examination is required. refraction fundus examination. this can be in lens vitreous or retina. once detected it can be treated after proper assessment.
