Hi - I had a massage today, long week, and when I'm tired I have tightness and pain in the area of my upper back next to my left scapula. The massage therapist said he could see a soft flesh mass and via palpitation menial to the inferior angle of the left scapula (his words!) that does not feel to be within the muscles or due to muscular hypertonicity. He recommended going to my doctor. Any ideas as to what this could be? I have gotten tension in this part of my back for a long time but wasn't aware there was a lump or mass. Thanks.
