I was diagnosed with a prolapse at the ER a month ago. The doctor was not sure if a uterine or bladder. So, my question is do hormonal changes come with prolapse? I have pregnancy symptoms; (sore breasts, urinating constantly, fatigued) but tests say negative. Will a prolapse interefere with a HPT?
Hello, I have gone through the query and here are your answers: 1. Hormone changes are not associated with prolapse of the vaginal walls and the uterus. In fact, it is a consequence of decreasing suspension of the uterus and also weakening of the vaginal walls. There can be several causes like congenital, trauma due to child bearing, age-related prolapse, obesity, chronic cough, chronic constipation and so on. 2. Prolapse does not interfere with HPT. If you have symptoms and not reading on the HPT, make sure you use the fresh early morning sample at least 3-7 days after the missed period. Else, you should go for the blood test to confirm/exclude pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
