Thank you...I had a collision a few nights ago on the softball field. I was playing pitcher, and I ran over to first base to cover a play, the runner hit my right side and ever since, Iam very sore... black and blue..wondering if I might have cracked a rib or have bruised ribs...any advice would be great...thanks!

Hello,

If any pain while doing breathing means a fracture in the rib. But since it's not there then it must be a hairline fracture. An x-ray will be good to have a confirmation of clinical findings. Taping the rib so not much trouble happens is advised. No doing any strenuous lifting and working. Rest and deep breathing exercises are advised with hot water fermentation at the injured site. You should do well in 3-4 weeks of time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
