What Causes Sore Nipple With Pus And Blood Oozing Out?
I am 20 years of age, I have one very sore nipple which is swollen and pus and blood coming out of the tip of the nipple. My periods have been irregular recent but I am not pregnant, I just seem to have a brown discharge instead, not sure if these symptoms are connected. Any ideas what the problem could be?
Subareolar breast abscesses are infected lumps that occur just under the areola, the colored skin around the nipple. An abscess is a swollen area in the body that is filled with pus. Pus is liquid filled with dead white blood cells.
Antibiotics can be administered to reduce the infections. Incase of severe pus collection, incision and drainage of the the abscess with a scalpel (blade) to release the infected fluid.
