I just got a random red spot almost like a rash, about the size of a pea on the side of the knuckle crease on my thumb...the joint is kind of sore. I had just recently been trying to open a stuck bottle of nail polish, could the extra hard twisting have caused it? If not, what s it from?
I can understand your concern for sore red spot on knuckle crease. After reading your query it appears to be related to mild injury due to extra hard twisting during opening the stuck bottle of nail polish. Let me reassure you first that it is quite usual to get such kind of sore red spot and there is nothing serious about it. I suggest you to keep the area under observation and if you feel that it is increasing then can meet a family physician to rule out any internal injury. I also suggest you to not to ouch or scratch or rub the skin as it can lead to further aggravation. In my patients with such kind of problem I generally prescribe a cream containing hydrocortisone with antibiotic such as gentamycin or mupirocin for two times.
I reassure you that you will be alright soon. Take care and all the best.
