What Causes Sore Throat Along With Red Line On Tongue?

I Have a sore throat and a red stripe down the center of my tounge. My tounge feels like it been burned. I saw my Dr last Thurdsay and he prescribed Azithromycin. I finished the 6 tabs on Monday. I feel worse that I did a week ago?? Should I go back and see him. I read that this antibotic stays in the system for a long time. Am I over reacting?? Do the pills need more time to work???? Ken

Hello read thru ur query accordingly I must say that the redline on the tongue can be due to the candidial infection due to antibiotic treatment.But nothing to be worried it can removed by applying nystatin gel and doing tongue scraping and having lots and lots of water.Have lots of citrus fruits.Do salt water gargle too.Follow these for a few weeks.It will be healed and if still it persists meet a dentist and get it corrected.hope you are benefitted something from this reply.Have a healthy day!!!!
