What Causes Sore Throat And Coughing Of Red Stuff?
hi, i have been having cough for the past 1week, and instead of spitting my phelgm, i usually swallowed. for the 1st few days, im always waking up with sore throat..this morning, when i spat out my phelgm, there is a solid red stuff. i went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with acute bronchitis, im wondering if it could be a symptom of cancer of any sort cos im also down with fever that comes on and off and feels cold easily but feels normal when i sweat when eating hot food

Noted your history about sore throat but swallowing the sputum, but in the morning your could find solid red stuff in the phlegm, Doctor diagnosed as bronchitis and gave the medication, you are worried that this is not cancer and wants to know more.
Cancer is usually symptom less in the initial stage and usually has loss of appetite and weight chronic cough with or without blood in the phlegm.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
First of all get the initial treatment for control of the symptoms.
If there is no relief let the investigations be started with simple X-ray of chest and tests of blood and sputum/phlegm.
If the condition does not improve then you can take an opinion of a Pulmonologist for PFT, CT scan of chest and other specific investigations to get a proper cause.
Once the cause is found the treatment can be specific and effective.
