ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, there can be two reasons for this. One can be a sinus infection which is partially draining and thus gives frequent infections and when finally gets drained in the form of yellowish clump, the episode resolves. The other reason can be a chronic chest condition which gets partially resolved with the passage of this yellowish clump and then recurs after some time. Please see an ENT and get a CT scan Para nasal sinuses and a chest Xray done and according to the findings, further management can be planned. Meanwhile, mucolytic with steam inhalation and nasal decongestant drops should help. Regards
