What Causes Sore Throat For About Five Days?

I ve had a severe sore throat for about five days now, which I thought was getting better, but now I feel like something is stuck in my throat. It s making it hard and painful to eat, what could this be? Should I be worried or will this go away on its own?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at your symptoms, throat pain and feeling if something stuck in the throat would probably be due to inflammation in your throat.

You may find relief by taking following medication:
Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,
Antacid like Rantac.

Also do warm saline gargles.Drink plenty of fluids(warm).Avoid cold, spicy and oily food.Avoid dust.

After following the above measures,if your symptoms are not improving in around 2 days, then it would be advisable to consult an ENT specialist.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
