What Causes Sore Throat, Swollen Tonsils And A Lump On The Neck?

Yes please! I have not been feeling well for over a week. I have a sore throat, my lungs are burning, my tongue has cracks in it and is swollen, tonsils swollen and the worst is I have a lump at the base of my neck and the whole back of my head is sore to touch.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are having allergic pharyngitis with tonsillitis. Start an antibiotic augmentin.Take antiallergic tablet levocetrizine. Take steam inhalation through mouth and nose. Start betadine gargle. For pain management you can take tablet paracetamol. It will take 2 week to resolve. Drink plenty of fluids specially juice, soup.
