What Causes Sore Throat While On Ranitidine?

I have a sore throat and a headache with a slight crackle in my voice in speaking. There seems to be a lot of mucus in my throat around my voice box and I tend to clear my throat a lot. I am taking omeprazole 40mg twice daily and ranitidine 150mg at bedtime as prescribed for acid reflex which had caused irritation in my throat. The acid reflex condition started about 15 months ago and the sore throat, headache, and mucus problem has been going on for about 3 months.

Ranitidine may won't cause sore throat and burning sensation. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and alcohol. Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. Check for sore throat may be due to allergy or Infection. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
