I have been sick for a couple days now, thinking it is just a regular sore throat, but the pain is still the same. I m also coughing so my lungs are weak. I shined a light on my throat and saw purple veins in the back of my throat and purple dots on my uvula. I figured i wouldn t see a doctor before i knew more about it, so Time wouldn t be wasted. Is this normal or should I be concerned? What does it mean?
I have gone through your query and after co-relating the symptoms described by you it appears as you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection. The spots you have seen in the posterior wall of throat and uvula are the signs of infection.
The existing infection may of virus or bacterial. To manage it and to make correct diagnosis these basic investigations are must-
4- Blood- CBC, ESR, Blood sugar (fasting and post parendial).
With the help of inferences of above investigations and their co-relation with clinical findings one may reach to correct diagnosis and ultimately that may be managed.
