My tongue is very sore on the back right and is making it difficult to eat or talk. I thought maybe I had a sharp tooth that was cutting it in my sleep (I sometimes grind my teeth) but today the left side also started to feel a bit sore. It has happened on and off for weeks. If it makes a difference my glands also seem to be a bit sore and swollen.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain you are suffering from Traumatic Ulcers which are caused due to tongue injury due to teeth grinding habit and there can also be traumatic ulcers caused by sharp edges of teeth which are formed due to abrasion of teeth due to grinding.. You should consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can advise you as well as get a Mouth Guard fabricated to prevent teeth grinding habit.. Your glands seems to be swollen due to inflammation of the tongue leading to inflammation in the lymph nodes causing LYMPHADENITIS.. While can also be due to infected lymph nodes.. Nothing to worry you can take Ibuprofen for relief from pain and inflammation.. Gargle with a numbing mouthwash to reduce discomfort especially during eating.. Take a multivitamin tablet daily.. Do sodabi-carb gargles..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
