What Causes Soreness And Bleeding While Passing Stools?
I had hammeroid surgery on April 29. One internal hammeroid was removed and two internal were banded. According to the surgeon, thete were wxternsl ones too but were too smsll to warrant any treatment. I still occasionally get sore and observe some blood on the toilet paper but no visible blood in the stool. Soreness seems to be mostly on the right side. I started the gym this week but am only doing 20 min of elliptical.
Is the blood still related to the surgery or might be something else?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you have hemorrhoid surgery and banding too the probable causes of blood on wiping can be a fissure in ano or prolapsed piles that were not done at the first time. This can be diagnosed by the following ways. Get a ano-proctoscopy and colonoscopy. Tests of stool and blood. An opinion of a General Surgeon. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and hence give a proper plan of management. Till then take a stool softener and laxatives to keep the stools soft. Take Sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Stop exercises till full diagnosis, management and recovery.
