What Causes Soreness And Pain In Knee?

I had a knock on my knee playing football. Didn't think much of it and carried on playing, as thought I had just jarred it. After a week it's still sore, ligaments feel ok, but there is a crunching sound when I bend left knee at the top of the knee on the left of my left knee. Is this a meniscus injury?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to meniscal injury most likely lateral meniscus meniscus from your description. A physical examination with an Orthopedician and manoeuvres will be helpful to clue from that and a MRI might be needed to rule out the condition in case of positive signs. Elastic bandaging of knee , ice application and NSAIDs will give relief from pain and inflammation. Quadriceps strengthening exercises will be helpful also. But if no improvement then a diagnostic arthroscopy and correction can be done. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
