What Causes Soreness And Redness Of Throat?

I m an 11 year old girl, 3 days ago my throught was dry, next day sore, and today even worse. I can barely eat or drink anything without pain, not even water or tea. And every like 30 seconds of so when I have to swallow my spit, I can barely do that. I looked and there are red bumps in my throught, not too big, but not too small. I ve already tried gargleing salt water, what else can I do, and what do you think I have?

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding dryness followed by redness and than pain which has now become so severe that you can't even swallow your saliva. You have also noticed bumps in your throat. All these developments are in favour of acute tonsillopharyngitis.

This throat infection is most of the time is viral and self limiting but bacterial infections are also detected from time to time.

For getting some relief you may take now-

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Warm saline gargling.

3- Adequate fluid orally.

4- Bed rest.

I hope above treatment will be effective and you will feel better, if any how your problem persist than you should consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination and treatment.
