i had a acl, lateral and miniscus tears about 5 years ago. to this day my quads haven t developed, my knee is always very very stiff and sore and feels week. i try to stay active as i ski and play hockey and work outside on my feet everyday. and it seems almost everyday at the end of day i can barely walk on it.... i tried going back to my surgeon numerous times and they insist my knee is ok and try to give me cortisone shots....any suggestions ?
Hello, I think that your ACL may not heal in ideal position. some time there is wrong tunnel placement leading to failure of ACL surgery. Other cause can be cyclops lesion. So I would suggest you to get a repeat MRI of the knee joint. It will confirm the diagnosis. If there is any graft failure than you might need a repeat surgery. If MRI a shows normal graft and well healed ACL than you should continue to work for muscle strengthening exercises. I would also suggest you to take Dicerin tablet daily for cartilage healing. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions. thanks
